Walking the Hudson

** This item is a paperback book **

2012, 2nd ed.

Written by the person most familiar with the New York City waterfront shore trail, Walking the Hudson details the southern section of the Hudson River Shore Trail.  Author Cy Adler, of Shorewalkers fame, includes a photo on almost every page. This section, also known as "Batt to Bear" (Battery to Bear Mountain) is the section most likely to be used by Metro area residents.  The book starts at the Battery in New York City and proceeds up Manhattan, across the Hudson River on the George Washington Bridge, through Fort Lee and Alpine, into Piermont, through Haverstraw, and then on to Bear Mountain.  Includes a foreword by Pete Seeger and a copy of a New York Times article from 1984 by Cy Adler.
