Park Overview

For those hikers who enjoy the challenge of bushwhacking or following unmarked woods roads and want to be away from crowds.

Trail Overview

There are no marked trails in this wildlife management area.  Use the Web Map link on this site to view a NJ DEP map displaying the park's boundaries and multiple parking areas. 

  • The Beaver Lake Rail Trail is south of NJ 23, across from the main wildlife management area tract (See Directions to Trailhead for GPS).  Part of the abandoned Hanford Branch of the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railroad, it spans three miles from Beaver Lake Road to Ogdensburg.

Hamburg Mountain  (WMA)

The Hamburg Mountain (WMA) with its 3,600 acres is for those hikers who enjoy the challenge of bushwhacking or following unmarked woods roads and want to be away from crowds.  Elevations range from 700 to 1,495 feet. Great for bird watching.
