Park Overview:
The many habitats in Mt. Holly Preserve provide birding opportunities. This small preserve should not be confused with Mt. Holly Sanctuary.
Park Description:
Narrow easements provide access to Mount Holly Preserve, a gift of Mrs. Francis R. Dunscombe to the Nature Conservancy in 1975. Part of the preserve was a dairy farm; less than half is meadow slowly returning to a mixed second growth hardwood forest. Indian Brook and the adjacent wetlands form additional habitats. Rock outcroppings and cliffs of six million-year old Fordham gneiss are along the eastern side.
Trails Overview:
Trails in Mount Holly Preserve are best hiked using a map from Walkable Westchester and following the signs at most intersections.
